As of 25 September 2016, some delegations from member parliaments of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) have arrived in capital Phnom Penh of the Kingdom of Cambodia to participate in the Standing Committee on Staff and Financial Regulations and the First Executive Council Meetings of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, which is hosted by the parliament of the Kingdom of Cambodia from 26-27 September 2016 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
Delegates from 21 APA member countries out of 42, who are expected to participate in the aforesaid meetings hosted by the Cambodian parliament, are from Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
The organization of the APA Standing Committee on Staff and Financial Regulations and the First Executive Council Meetings are very crucial towards the Second Executive Council Meeting, which will be held as part of the 9th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliament Assembly to be held in Cambodia’s historical Siem Reap province in the late 2016.
In the afternoon of 23 September 2016, among the APA delegates to arrive in Cambodia are His Excellency Musuod Islami, Acting Secretary General of the APA based in Tehran, Iran, and his colleagues while all delegates will arrive for the meetings on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2016.
The leaders of the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly, Members of Parliaments and Senators of the Kingdom of Cambodia get ready at Phnom Penh International Airport to warmly welcome all honorable parliamentary delegates from parliaments in Asia to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The host of the said meetings of Asian Parliamentary Assembly here is absolutely imperative, and a massive contribution of the parliament of the Kingdom of Cambodia to peace and development in the region and the world through parliamentary mechanisms.
